Conspiracy of Fools

phew…finally i have finished the book.
It is a 700 page book, but took me half year to complete!

Conspiracy of Fools by Kurt Eichenwald, it is one of the best books I have ever read. It has described the collapse of Enron from its very start, its glorious moments, and its shameful retreat…All the characters, moved in with all the glories and colors; most of them ended leaving the stage with nothing in their hand…

I have learnt many things from it. Enron was a good example of management failure. It is not because people working for Enron were not capable. It is just that the control never took in places. Enron has follow the sole strategy that PR is everything. And it was a strategy from the top to every first line manager.

It only took several years to rotten the gold apple from its very core.

Internal control is all the time essential to sustainable achievement. Moveing too fast without looking back only exaggerated all the executives and board. Once one trigger has been launched, the domino effects devastated the whole company…

Failure does teach us more.
